We are surrounded by majestic mountains some of which are easily accessible! A short 15 minute drive from our house takes you to Hatcher's Pass, an old gold mine location. Now it is most known and loved for its cross country skiing trails and its snowboarding, downhill skiing and extreme sledding runs in the winter. During the other seasons, you'll love all the outdoor opportunities such as hiking, biking, blueberry picking (I may even tell you how to find our "secret" spot!), rock climbing, and much more. But I should focus on selling our house, not our state!!
Situated between Palmer and Wasilla (but closer to Wasilla),our home is in close proximity to all essential locations. Shopping can be done at Target, Fred Meyer, WalMart, Carrs/Safeway, Walgreens (soon), Home Depot, Lowes and more! These stores are a mere 5-8 minutes away. Yet our neighborhood is quiet and spacious. Our lot is just under one acre and next door is a heavily wooded lot, giving the feeling of privacy. We live on a paved street. Our home, with its circle drive, is ideal for entertaining, even if your guests are opportunity-chasing out-of-state long-lost relatives who stay for weeks!
Behind the fence, covered in snow and to the right is our perennial garden. Planted there are a Bleeding Heart plant, Delphinium, Peony, and many more beautiful plants. Also planted in front of the fence posts are tulip and daffodil bulbs.
Pictured below is our family room. Set at the back of the house, it's the perfect place to hang out with the family. South facing, with a wall made up of a large window and sliding glass door, the natural sunlight is beautiful. It is bright and warm. In the summer, you'll enjoy that the door, coming off the dining room, is so convenient as you carry your steaks out to the grill, set the table in the backyard and watch the kids playing tag or baseball while you cook dinner! The two doors pictured here lead to two of the five bedrooms. To the right of the picture is one of the three bathrooms. We have used this whole part of the house as a "guest suite" because it is ideal for a whole family to stay in. We hung beautiful velvet drapes in the doorway leading to this back room and closed it off at night to give privacy to our guests.
This (below) is the front room of the house. Off to the right are two windows which look out at the street and driveway. The front door is also to the right. This custom gas fireplace has been a joy for our family. Cold winter evenings often find us in this room, in front of the fire with a big bowl of popcorn and a board or card game, or our current family read.
To the left of the picture is a short hallway leading to one bedroom (the door is visible on the left of this photo), next a bathroom and linen closet (actually behind the fireplace) and another bedroom which also has a window facing the front yard.
Also to the left is the dining room.
I am standing in the tiled entry way to take the photo. Behind me and to the left is the master bedroom. (Pictures will be added soon, below this post.)
This (below) is our kitchen. I am standing beside the dining room table. The sun pours through the window in the evening. There is a pantry to the left of the picture. To the right is the entry to the aforementioned family room.

This perennial garden is located at the edge of the small front yard, between the house and the circle drive.

We also enjoy evening camp fires around the fire pit along the edge of the lawn.
